Launched by the Department for Education as part of the £725 million Growth and Skills Levy, apprenticeship units are short, modular courses drawn from existing apprenticeship occupational standards. They run for 30 to 140 delivery hours, as little as one week, and are 100% funded through your levy or the government’s co-investment scheme.
Unlike full apprenticeships, units are assessed by your training provider, so there are no external assessment delays. Additionally, they count as Recognised Prior Learning, meaning they can stack into a full qualification when your team is ready.

The DfE is rolling out apprenticeship unit delivery through a targeted group of providers with the strongest track records in relevant standards. CCG is amongst this group, as the largest FE provider in Sussex, Ofsted Outstanding, and Training Provider of the Year at the 2025 Portsmouth & Chichester Apprenticeship Awards.
CCG is on the government’s approved provider list for apprenticeship units. Your levy spend is compliant and fully funded from the first cohort.
Units take as little as 1–16 weeks, helping your staff stay productive with minimal disruption. Assessment is delivered by CCG, avoiding external assessment delays.
Units count as Recognised Prior Learning toward full apprenticeships. Invest now and your team has a clear progression route when they’re ready for more.

| 3. | Choose your unit and staff Units are for employed staff aged 19 and over. We’ll confirm eligibility and build a tailored training plan together. |
| 4. | Start training Delivery begins within weeks. Your staff complete a skills test assessed by CCG meaning no external assessment delays. |
