5 December 2025

Student Union officers from across the Chichester College Group have been praised for their work at a Loud Speaker Roadshow event in London.

Six presidents and one vice president from the college’s Student Union recently travelled to the capital to take part in the roadshow.

It included workshops based on unlocking their full potential and looking at their future prospects.

The roadshow was part of Speak Week 2025 offering a free nationwide initiative of oracy, youth voice and communications skills.

Beth Hutchinson, Student Experience Team Leader for Chichester College Group, said: “The feedback from other school’s staff and Loud Speaker about our students was incredible. They stood up and spoke like heroes.

“One of our students stood up and presented an idea for a business, drones and AI to help find missing people in hard to get to places.

“Loud Speaker are putting them in contact with a Canadian business to support them.

“After lunch, we were invited to go with Loud Speaker as an addition to the event for afternoon tea at the House of Lords, where Lord Jim Knight was there and spoke to the students about his journey and story and it inspired our students so much.

“He used to be the Minister of State for Schools and Learning, he was a chief education officer and has dedicated so many years to young people and their education.

“He was so inspired by our students that he is interested in coming to visit us this year.”
