Lisa Humphries Celebrated for Outstanding Volunteering Work at National Awards

17 December 2025

Chichester College Group (CCG) is proud to celebrate one of its own, Lisa Humphries, who has been awarded the Outstanding Long-Service Award for Volunteering at the Good for Me, Good for FE awards.

Lisa, Associate Principal for Students & Customers at CCG, has dedicated more than 20 years to the group and was recognised for her outstanding commitment to volunteering throughout her career.

She has spearheaded the group’s work with The Walk Centre and African Adventures in Kenya, which saw multiple trips organised for students and staff to visit the team in Nakuru.

The awards ceremony took place on Friday, 5 December at the House of Lords, honouring the incredible volunteering and fundraising efforts of students and staff across the country.

Lisa’s award was one of eight categories awarded at the ceremony, with each category having three finalists, which reflects the strong competition in each category.

The judges for the event featured a wide variety of experts from across the education sector, including the current FE Commissioner and former Chief Executive of CCG, Shelagh Legrave.

Lisa said, “I feel incredibly honoured to receive this award and to have the opportunity to represent the amazing work happening across our colleges. Volunteering has always been close to my heart, and seeing the impact we’ve made together has been truly inspiring.

“These experiences have changed lives, and I’m so proud of our students and staff who have embraced these opportunities to give back. This recognition is really for all of them and the difference they make every day.”

Vicki Illingworth, Executive Principal and Deputy Chief Executive of CCG, attended the ceremony and shared her pride in Lisa’s achievement, saying:

“It was such a privilege to be in a special space celebrating just a fraction of what further education contributes to its communities.

The Good for me, Good for FE’ awards recognised individuals and teams for their social action and impact; hearing Lisa’s story reflected her dedication, passion and living our purpose of ‘changing lives through learning’ – such a pleasure to see the acknowledgement and celebrate her achievements. I am really proud!”

Good for Me Good for FE is a national movement which is dedicated to inspiring community action in Further Education colleges up and down the country, through empowering students and staff to take part in volunteering and fundraising activities.
