Ofsted

Following the merger between Chichester College Group and Greater Brighton Metropolitan College in August 2022, Chichester College Group is viewed by Ofsted as a new college for inspection purposes.

OFSTED

In March 2020 (prior to the 2022 merger and the opening of Haywards Heath College in September 2020), CCG was rated as Outstanding in all areas following an inspection of Brinsbury, Chichester, Crawley and Worthing Colleges.

At the time, we were only the second further education provider in England to achieve the highest grades in every area of Ofsted’s updated Education Inspection Framework (EIF).

Previous CCG Inspection Report – March 2020

Outstanding in all areas

The full inspection report, published on 12 May 2020, praised all areas of our provision. It acknowledged CCG’s ‘outstanding culture of inclusivity and respect’ and said that our ‘courses meet fully the demands of their local and regional communities’.

The report said: “Residential students make exceptional progress in their education and social skills while living on site.”

It added that there ‘is a high expectation for all students to succeed to the best abilities, and this is reflected not only in their grades but their engagement in enrichment activities…Senior leaders are not resting on their laurels and strive for continued improvement.’

Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ Status For Residential Provision

Chichester College Group has received a fifth consecutive ‘outstanding’ inspection grade for care standards in 2022, after a recent inspection of the residential provision at Chichester College by Ofsted.

In the post-inspection report, the college was given outstanding grades in every area and the support and care provision offered to students was among the areas to receive praise.
