What is Clearing?

UCAS Clearing is the official process that helps students apply for university places that are still available after the main UCAS deadline.

You can use Clearing if:

  • You didn’t receive any university offers
  • You declined your offers or didn’t meet the conditions
  • You applied after 30 June
  • You’ve changed your mind about your course or university

When does clearing take place?

Clearing opens on Saturday, 5 July, and runs through to mid-October. However, most places are filled shortly after A-Level and T Level results are released on 15 August. Make sure to act quickly to secure your place!
