Chichester College Group secures Government funding for T Levels delivery

Chichester College Group has been awarded two government grants, worth nearly £3million in total, to develop the delivery of T Levels at two of its colleges.

Brinsbury College will receive £1.15million to overhaul and refurbish facilities at the farm to support the delivery of agricultural T Levels at the college.

As part of this funding, the cattle sheds will be renovated and new equipment installed to ensure the farmers of the future receive training in the latest industry developments at Brinsbury.

Chichester College has also received £2.8million to develop an existing building to create a specialist T Level centre on the campus, supporting a number of T Levels including Media, Broadcast & Production, Business, Legal, Finance and Accounting.

“We are committed to ensure our students across all of our colleges have the opportunity to received industry-relevant courses, supported by an exciting curriculum which enhances their skills and meets employers’ need.

“These two grants will enable us to invest in our buildings and the technology to ensure we are doing just that.

“Investment in our facilities and our colleges is vital for the development of education in the area, and will help us to offer our students the best opportunities they can get.”

The grants come from the latest wave of Government T Level Capital Buildings and Facilities Improvement funding. It’s part of the government’s investment in the development and delivery of T Levels, which are two-year technical qualifications that are equivalent to three A-levels.

Chichester College Group’s projects are among 108 T Level projects at further education providers nationally to have been successful in their bids for funding.

Robert Halfon, Minister for Skills, Apprenticeship and Higher Education, said: “This boost of over £100million is our latest investment in T Levels.

“These are robust, high quality technical qualifications providing a unique ladder of opportunity for students to gain both classroom knowledge and on-the-job experience. 

“From robotics suites that support digital T Levels to simulated health wards where students can get a real sense of what it means to work in Healthcare Science, T Levels will support young people into rewarding careers and back businesses with the skills of the future.” 

Designed and delivered with employers, students completing T Levels spend 80% of their study time in the classroom and 20% on industry placement (around 45 days).
